One Direction: The richest boyband in music history

One Direction are officially the richest boyband in music history from Britain and Ireland.The five-piece group, made up of Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik, each have an individual wealth of £15million which combines to a total net worth of £70million.In one year alone the band earned £45million, according to the Sunday Times’ list of richest musicians aged 30 and under.

"There hasn't been another boyband who have made so much money so quickly," said the rich list's editor Ian Coxon. "Whether they will carry on at the same rate is anybody's guess."Adele tops young musicians' rich list with £45million The increase in the boys' personal earnings, from £9million to £15million, is due to the huge success of their recent world tour, DVD and record sales, a series of lucrative advertising endorsements and their ever-growing American fanbase.

With their money, the boys have splashed out on cars and properties in both the US and the UK.Harry Styles, 20, is said to be the quintet's biggest spender, owning three cars, two houses and a flat.The Daily Mail reports that Harry has an Audi R8 coupe worth £100,000, a 1970s Ford Capri worth £8,000 and a Range Rover Sport worth up to £80,000. The Cheshire-born singer also owns a £2.6million mansion in LA, a £3million home in north London and a £575,000 flat in east London.

Niall Horan recently met the Queen

Bradford-born Zayn Malik, meanwhile, has bought a Bentley Continental GT worth £32,000 with his earnings, and has also purchased a home worth £280,000 for his mother and a £2.2million mansion in north London.Guitar-playing Niall Horan, 20, owns a £70,000 Range Rover, a £2.2million London home and a £1.5million mansion in LA, while 22-year-old Louis, who recently sold his £45,000 Porsche Boxster, has a £90,000 Range Rover and a £2.5million property in north London.Money-wise, the most reserved member of the group is Liam Payne, who is also known for being the most sensible member of the band. While the 20-year-old from Wolverhampton has a £2million flat in Canary Wharf, it is his only property and he doesn't own any cars.
