It is not the only addition to the menu for autumn; the chain has also launched a caramelised pecan latte and its take on one of 2017's biggest culinary trends, a turmeric latte. And for people who want to get their pumpkin spice fix in another way, there is a new pumpkin spice loaf available too.

STORY: Gordon Ramsay has his say on the unicorn food trend

The Pumpkin Spice Latte is not the only Starbucks to cause a frenzy among coffee lovers; earlier in the year the company sent customers wild with the launch of its Unicorn Frappuccino, a limited edition drink that was only available in the USA, Mexico and Canada.

The vibrant pink and blue iced drink was said to taste both sweet and sour depending on how you mixed up the colourful syrups with your straw, and was only available for four days in April.

However not everyone was a fan of the mythical food craze, including British chef Gordon Ramsay. The Hell's Kitchen star, who is known for not holding back on expressing his opinion, weighed in on the trend in an interview with PopSugar. "Unicorns are meant for children's tales, not food," he said.
