Beatrice and Eugenie meet 'The Aviator'

Sarah Ferguson's daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, found themselves competing for the attentions of a handsome Hollywood prince this weekend. The two royal teenagers met up with Tinseltown star Leonardo DiCaprio on Sunday night, when he jetted into London to promote his new film The Aviator.

Sixteen-year-old Beatrice even let out a gasp of "crikey" when the actor welcomed her with a kiss on the cheek. But the royal siblings, who were accompanied to the Leicester Square screening by their mum, weren't the only ones turning heads on the red carpet.

Cate Blanchett, who plays Katherine Hepburn in the film, set the flashbulbs blazing with a sheer polka-dot dress by Yves Saint Laurent, while her co-star Kate Beckinsale was likewise radiant in a white chiffon Oscar de la Renta number. The British actress has clearly lost the 20lbs she had to pile on for her role as Ava Gardner in the flick. "I did it just eating chocolate," she revealed. "The fashion back then was to be more robust, they liked the more voluptuous woman."

The movie's leading man has been tipped to win an Oscar for his portrayal of iconic recluse Howard Hughes. But Leo remained modest when asked about his chances of taking the prestigious trophy home. "Something to recognise the film would be great," he said. "I'm just being honest in saying that anyone who says they wouldn't want to be nominated is full of you know what."
