Family men and leading ladies wow West End

It was easy to understand why Richard E Grant, Sir Bob Geldof and Anthony Head were all sporting broad grins on Tuesday night. The three London residents were all enjoying the company of their favourite girls as they turned out for a glitzy premiere in Leicester Square.

Sir Bob, who looked dashing in a sharp black suit, made his entrance with partner Jeanne Marie on one arm and daughter Pixie on the other, while Anthony, who famously played Giles in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, was accompanied by his daughters Daisy and Emily.

It was screen favourite Richard who was the centre of everyone's attention, though. The 49-year-old, who was flanked by wife Joan and daughter Olivia, was beaming from ear to ear when he arrived to present his autobiographical flick Wah-Wah.

The much talked-about production, which tells the story of his life as a child in Swaziland, has been six years in the making. Describing the moment as a "dream come true", the veteran performer was clearly overjoyed that his pet project had finally come to fruition.

Also in attendance was Irish heart-throb Gabriel Byrne, who plays Richard's alcoholic father. Emily Watson meanwhile takes on the role of his stepmother while About A Boy's young star Nicholas Hoult features as the author himself.
