He may not have been playing his Martini-quaffing alter ego this time, but Daniel Craig ticked all the boxes in the handbook of suave red-carpet appearances at the premiere of his latest film.

From the girl on his arm - fiancée Satsuki Mitchell - to his stylish grey three-piece suit the 007 looked every bit as cool as his most famous character.

In Defiance, a drama about three Jewish brothers who mount a resistance movement in Nazi-occupied Poland, Daniel shares the screen with Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell - who's matured considerably since his last movie outing.

All three were passionate about bringing the little known story to light. "We didn't do it for the money, this movie, we did it because we loved doing it," explained 40-year-old British star Daniel.

"It was just as soon as I read the material I saw it was something I wanted to get involved in and expose to the world," he added.
