The Wanted comforted Lindsay Lohan before her court case

British boy band The Wanted have revealed they comforted Lindsay Lohan with "a drink" before her court case, when the actress was facing charges for drink-driving and lying to police. The rowdy boys, Siva, Jay, Max, Nathan and Tom, got in touch with their close friend when they heard she was feeling down and in need of support before the legal proceedings. The band were in Los Angeles filming for their reality TV show, The Wanted Life, that follows their adventures stateside and the process of recording their third album.

In one episode Jay, Max, Nathan and Tom are seen enjoying a drink with their manager in a sports bar, and revealed that after filming they bumped into Lindsay's ex-boyfriend. "After that scene, we actually bumped into her ex-boyfriend who said she was in need of a bit of support," said Max, who has previously been linked to Lindsay who has been recovering in rehab. "She was a bit down about her court case so we invited her over to the house for a drink, which probably wasn’t the best idea," said Max, speaking at an event. The five boys jokingly disagreed over who was Lindsay's favourite. "Am I her favourite?" said Max. "Yeah, I guess so." He was soon shut down by the other four members.

Known as the ladies' man of the band, Max opened up about his brief romance with Lindsay last year. When asked whether he had shared a kiss with the actress, he admitted, "Yes, we did — a little one." He added that Lindsay will most likely not be featuring on the show. The reality TV show documents the boys' wild antics and sees their manager telling them off for their wild partying in the very first episode. The boys also revealed their soft side though, saying they missed friends and family. "You hear about people getting homesick and we had toured a lot before," said Jay, known as the joker of the group. "But then you get that feeling of proper heartache, and seeing my niece who's two feet taller now, you feel quite guilty for leaving."

"I'm not going to lie," said Nathan. "I very, very nearly went home at one point. Everywhere you looked there was a camera in your face and I'm not sure I was ready to deal with it. I was so ill, too." The youngest of the boy band, who had to undergo surgery on his vocal chords on his 20th birthday, has now fully recovered and thanked his fans for their support. "Out of surgery... what a way to spend my birthday!" he previously tweeted. "I have been completely overwhelmed by all of the love, support and birthday wishes from you guys. You are all amazing!!" The show premieres on Monday, just after the release of their single Walks Like Rihanna on Sunday.
