In this new clip, the pair have just met, and Gus sparks an argument with Hazel after opening a packet of cigarettes.
Also starring Willem Defoe and Laura Dern, The Fault In Our Stars is out in the UK on June 20, and pop superstar Ed Sheeran recently confirmed he will be contributing to the film’s soundtrack, released on May 19.
Joining Ed on the soundtrack are a host of British musicians including Jake Bugg, Birdy, Chali XCX and Tom Odell.
Shailene may be familiar to audiences who watched her in George Clooney’s Oscar nominated film The Descendants, and she also recently starred in Divergent, another young adult adaptation.
Shailene recently had strong words for another teen film, Twilight, calling the relationship between the two main character Bella and Edward "toxic" and "unhealthy".
Speaking to Teen Vogue, Shailene says: "I didn’t do a movie for two years because I didn’t read anything that was inspiring to me."
"Everybody was like, ‘You’ve got to ride the wave!’ And I was like, ‘You ride the wave and it eventually crashes on the shore. That doesn’t work out! I’m going to just sit here and paddleboard'," she said.
Ansel also co-starred with Shailene in Divergent, and featured alongside Julianne Moore in Carrie in 2013.
