As the daughter of Oscar-winner Emma Thompson, Gaia Romilly has mingled with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. So she was perfectly at ease as she hit the red carpet with her mum and Tom Hanks at the premiere of their new film, Saving Mr Banks, on Sunday evening.Bearing a strong resemblance to her mother, the 14-year-old chose a sleek black jumpsuit for the occasion, her pixie crop styled across one eye.

Emma, beaming with pride, posed with a protective arm wrapped around Gaia's waist as they stepped into the spotlight together. The pair were joined at the premiere by husband and father Greg Wise, as well as two female friends, to toast the screening of the film.

Emma's co-star Tom was clearly delighted to catch up with the actress and her family. He warmly greeted the group on the red carpet before posing for pictures with the film's leading lady.

Both Emma and Tom are big box office names, and their new collaboration looks set for success. Saving Mr Banks tells the story of Walt Disney, played by Tom, as he attempts to convince author P.L. Travers, Emma’s character, to sell the film rights to her book, Mary Poppins. The legendary filmmaker is said to have spent 14 years trying to persuade the author to let him make a movie out of the children’s story. Of course, it went on to become one of the studio's most beloved films starring Julie Andrews as the magical nanny and Dick Van Dyke as Bert the chimney sweep. Also attending the star-studded screening were Ruth Wilson and Colin Farrell, who star in the film as the author's parents, Robert Goff Travers and Margaret Travers.
