Rochelle Humes has spoken openly about her decision to embrace her natural curly hair in a bid to install confidence in her daughter Alaia-Mai, after the four-year-old commented that she "didn't look like a princess" without straight hair. And now the Saturdays star has revealed that she's found another role model to help her daughter love her natural locks – and it's none other than Meghan Markle. Rochelle told The Sun's Fabulous magazine that she has shown Alaia-May childhood pictures of Prince Harry's fiancee to help her see that “not all princesses look the same”.

She explained: "There was a picture that came up where Meghan had curly hair so I was showing Alaia and I was like 'look she’s a real life princess and she's got hair like you'. She was like 'wow', it was so funny. And I said 'you know she's an actual princess, she's not a pretend princess'."

Rochelle also confessed that she's "mad" at herself for ever straightening her hair, and that the decision is already having an impact on Alaia, saying. "My daughter loves it and it's really funny because now she's obsessed with her hair," she said. "I don't know if it's just me, or if she would have turned the corner anyway, but a teenager walked past the other day and she had long, curly hair and she said 'mummy, look at that girl's hair it's so beautiful', but she would have never said that before."

This weekend the 29-year-old was visiting Coachella festival, where she wore her natural hair in a beautiful beaded style. The look was created with the help of celebrity hair stylist Patrick Wilson, and featured a section of her hair flattened to the side and adorned with rose gold beads. The ghd ambassador explained how he created the look: "I prepped the hair with heat protect spray, then dried with a diffuser to enhance the natural texture," he said. "I then used the tip of the ghd Creative Curl Wand to add definition throughout the hair, and created a deep side-parting on one side and sectioned it into five."

He added: "I secured each section with clear elastics, pulling the hair back to form a diamond shape. I added the rose gold beads to cover the elastic, then finished with a spritz of ghd Final Fix Hairspray."
