Amber Le Bon has gone for the chop, and all for a very good cause. The 28-year-old model, who is renowned for her trademark long hair, donated seven inches to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which supplies real hair wigs free of charge to children who have lost their hair from cancer treatment and other illnesses. Not only did Amber help benefit children in need, but the star looked fantastic with her new short do.

The model's fantastic new do

A series of photographs taken throughout her hair transformation show the star in the salon chair while a stylist works his magic. Amber's new hair, which has been cut just below the shoulder, looked gorgeous styled in bouncy waves, framing her face while enhancing her striking features.

The model was a fan of her look too, and rightly so. "My hair has never been as short as this in my adult life! I’ve had it a couple of inches longer than this, but never this short. I really enjoy it and I don’t think it’s too different. I’m not worried about it because my hair grows. "It's fun, it feels bouncy and it’s nice to have a change and do something different," she said.

Amber's hair will be donated to the Little Princess Charity

Amber, who cut her hair as part of ghd and the Little Princess Trust's campaign, Chop To Your Chin Day, said knowing that her hair would help bring a smile to a child's face made cutting her hair an easy decision. "My hair will grow back and it is going to kids whose hair isn’t growing right now. If I make one kid smile by adding to a wig that they are wearing that makes me so happy," she added.
