Have you ever wondered what's the best time of day to get in shape? How best to schedule your fitness sessions to get the most benefit from the time you spend at the gym, swimming, jogging etc.? Clearly it's not always convenient, and we need to organise around work and household schedules, but it's been shown that morning is the best time to shake your booty.
A healthy start: Taking exercise can stimulate the cardiovascular system and keep your heart healthy; what's more, it releases endorphins, the body's 'happiness hormones'. So, if you plan your fitness routine for the morning, you'll be recharging your batteries for the whole day and improving your immune system, as well as helping your body burn your morning calories more efficiently.
And other times? That doesn't mean you shouldn't go to the gym in the evening; that, too, has advantages. Evening exercise is a wonderful way to combat stress and release the tensions that have built up over the course of the day. Note, though, that exercise has a stimulating effect, and, if possible, you should programme your work-out sessions at least three hours before going to bed.
