Jennifer Lopez has spoken candidly about body image, revealing how she overcame her past insecurities. The 46-year-old admitted that she previously worried that she "wasn't thin enough" but soon learned to embrace her figure – and is urging her fans to do the same and celebrate their bodies.

"It's hard to avoid comparing yourself to others, and I've definitely been guilty of it myself," the Jenny from the Block hitmaker told HELLO!. "I remember thinking I wasn't thin enough because I had curves. But I've learned that being healthy and feeling great aren't about having one specific body type; it's a completely individual thing."

She added: "Feeling beautiful is an attitude, and we should all look for the beautiful things we love about ourselves, regardless of how our bodies compare to someone else's."

The singer revealed dancing helps her confidence

Despite repeatedly turning heads with her enviable figure and impressive performances, the Dance Again singer admitted that she still has days where her "confidence is lagging", but that she has found a way to get back on track – by dancing.

"When my confidence is lagging, I dance," she revealed. "There's something about seeing what my body is capable of and feeling the endorphin rush that comes with a good dance session that really helps boost my mood. I still consider myself a dancer at heart, and I love it."

Jennifer has been wowing fans during her Las Vegas residency

There's no doubt that the mother-of-two's schedule allows for plenty of dance sessions. Earlier this year, the Waiting for Tonight hitmaker embarked on her Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

"I've been preparing for this moment my entire life," she wrote in a statement when the exciting news was first announced. "The show is going to be a multifaceted high energy Jenny from the Block party, mixing all aspects of what my fans and I love –dance, hip hop, Latin and pop. It's going to be the show I've always dreamt of creating."
