Emma Stone has garnered headlines this awards season, winning over everyone with her beautiful looks and never missing a beat as she walked the red carpet at the Golden Globes, BAFTAs and Oscars. We wanted to know her make-up secrets, so who better to ask than her make-up artist Rachel Goodwin? "Creating Emma's look is always a fun process, myself her hairdresser and stylist have been working together for a decade now so it's a wonderful energy always we speak the same creative language." At the London premiere of La La Land, Emma channelled an old school Hollywood icon as well as wearing this season’s hottest claret lip. ‘Emma's look was kept on her lips and brows, with luminous skin as a key element." Here’s how Rachel created the look.

A Flawless Face

"I always like to keep her skin as translucent as possible allowing her freckles to come through. I use minimal amounts of foundation with great coverage and a more matte texture to avoid needing to use too much powder to set. I applied Nars Radiant Cream Compact Foundation in Gobi, £28 (narscosmetics.co.uk), with a brush and then buff it out with a BeautyBlender Classic Sponge, £16, (beautyblender.co.uk), doused in rosewater to keep it from looking to heavy." Try Boots Traditional Glycerin & Rosewater, £2.39.

"For her cheeks I applied Nars Powder Blush in Bumpy Ride, £23, to the top of her cheekbones for a more sculpted cheek look. I kept the colour minimal as too much blush with a strong lip can look cartoonish."

Starry Starry Eyes

Emma Stone eye make up

"I embellished her eyes with subtle shades of taupe in the crease and defined her eyebrows, giving them a finished look without much colour on the eyes the lip to remained the focus of the look. I curled her lashes twice with a Troy Suratt's incredible Relevee Eyelash Curler, £28, from Liberty; it's my favourite. I then applied two coats of Chanel Le Volume Mascara in Noir, £25, on her lashes, adding Ardell individual Lashes in Medium Black, £5.49, on the outer edges of her eyes for an little extra oomph."

Lips To Love

"I defined Emma's lip with a neutral lip pencil, filled in entirely and then buffed with a q tip before I applied Nars Audacious Lipstick in Liv, £24, blotting with a tissue and then applying a second coat. I finished her lips by dabbing a bit of clear gloss in the centre of her bottom lip for dimension."
