When you're a member of the British royal family, the pressure is on to look perfect at every official engagement for the waiting fans and snapping photographers. So it's no surprise that this one particularly glam royal has opted for a CND Shellac manicure to keep her digits in tip-top order. The Countess of Wessex appeared at the National Memorial Arboretum in Lichfield last month for the launch of a new memorial dedicated to the nurses that lost their lives in the first and second world wars last month, and her neat, thickly painted nails looked like they’d had a thorough coating of the gel polish treatment.

Many celebrities are fans of Shellac products because they don't chip or crack until you opt to have them removed by a manicurist. Holly Willoughby is also known to opt for the treatment – her manicurist Ann, of Ann Nails London, wrote on Facebook that she applied Shellac in a peachy-pink Bare Chemise and neautral-hued Powder My Nose to the This Morning presenter's nails.

The Countess teamed her manicure with a daring, super colourful outfit that was just perfect for welcoming in the summer months. The 53-year-old wore a bold midi dress featuring a graphic print and purple block print, with a fitted top, nipped-in waist and full skirt. She teamed the frock with a cropped red cardigan, deep purple clutch bag and pale pink pointed court shoes – talk about a colour explosion! She wore her hair off her face in her trademark up 'do and kept her makeup fresh and natural.

And on Saturday she looked stunning in a bold pink ensemble at 2018's Trooping The Colour. The rosy outfit, which is reminiscent in tone to that of the Duchess of Cambridge's iconic pink 2017 dress, was teamed with a contrasting cream hat, and featured striking puff sleeves and an open back. Sophie rode in a carriage alongside her daughter Lady Louise, as well as Princess Beatrice, in matching pink, and Princess Eugenie, who wore an emerald green outfit.
