Presenter Nick Knowles is celebrating the arrival of a new baby son. The 51-year-old DIY SOS and Break The Safe host welcomed son Eddie, his first child with his wife of almost two years, 26-year-old Jessica Rose, on Saturday afternoon.

"Little Eddie weighed in at a healthy 7lbs 9oz and both Mum and baby are doing well", HELLO! has been told.

Nick and Jessica, who married in a romantic ceremony in Rome in September 2012, announced the happy news of their pregnancy in HELLO! in February.

Nick - who has three elder children, sons Charles, 20 and TJ, 18, and daughter Tuesday, 19 - said at the time that becoming a father again later in life didn’t concern him.

"Earlier it did hit me, 'When he's 16, I'll be 67. Blimey!' But I'm a bit of a Peter Pan in spirit and physically I keep myself pretty fit," he told HELLO!, revealing that he couldn't wait to begin this "exciting new chapter" in his and Jessica's lives.

Revealing the happy news of Eddie's safe arrival to HELLO!, new mum Jessica said of their precious baby boy: "He is so strong and healthy."

And announcing the joyous news on his Twitter page, proud dad Nick said, "'He is wonderful".
