Enjoying a successful holiday takes a lot of organisation and patience. But it's not only packing your suitcase you need to worry about - it's worth taking some time to prep your skin to make the most of your vacation. Award-winning make-up artist Stacey Whittaker has revealed her tips on pre-holiday skin prep. First up, Stacey recommends incorporating regular exfoliation into your skincare regime.

"Preparation is key when it comes to good skin and exfoliation is a must as your skin tends to produce oil which can clog pores," she told Cover Media. "I would recommend Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant for regular use on your face to give your skin a smoother and brighter appearance."

Get your skin glowing in time for your summer holiday

If you have some cash to splash before heading on vacation, Stacey recommends the Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion in-salon exfoliation treatment, offered at her Pouts & Pinups beauty salon.

When it comes to wearing make-up on holiday, it's usually a case of the less, the better. Stacey is a big fan of tinted moisturiser in place of foundation and cites Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturiser as her favourite.

"It gives a sheer coverage whilst adding a sunkissed glow to your skin," she explained. "Using cream make-up products is also better when on holiday, as powders tend to become cakey as your make-up wears throughout the day."

To finish off your beauty look, use a bronze highlighting liquid like the NARS Illuminator, with Stacey's favourite shade Hot Sand being "perfect for adding that golden hue to your cheek bones!"

Vacations often involve sun, sea, and sand, so keeping your look in place for the entire day can be tough. Stacey recommends using a facial spray, adding: "Sprays like MAC fix+ and Pixi Vitamin Mist will add an instant boost of hydration to your face whilst soothing your skin to avoid your face looking dehydrated and tired."
