What’s on your beauty bucket list? Perhaps you’ve always wanted to have an A-list facial, or have forever fancied the smoothing effects of Botox – but the price point and upkeep has put you off. Luckily, the booming beauty gadget market is bringing the technology of the salon - or the surgery - into our own homes. Whether you want to zap a breakout, soften wrinkles or give your complexion a deep clean, there’s a tool to achieve it.

With experts onboard and countless clinical studies to back-up their claims, it’s easy to see why business is booming when it comes to all things ‘wellness tech’. In fact, there are a select few gadgets that have transformed the industry’s opinion of at-home beauty electricals – so now’s certainly the time to invest. Click through the gallery and take a look at some of our favourites…

neutrogena

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Light Therapy Acne Spot Treatment, £19.99

Arguably changing the landscape of home acne treatments in 2017 was Neutrogena, who earlier in the year launched a light therapy mask to reduce redness and breakouts all over the complexion. Next up from the range comes this equally innovative targeted pen, which uses red and blue light to target acne – the red reduces inflammation, while blue tackles the bacteria itself. Nifty, and very handbag-friendly.

Face Gym

FaceGym Pro, £429

Forget HIIT workouts - it’s time to invest in a personal training regime for your face! That’s right, FaceGym is based around just that principle – offering devices to give your complexion a ‘workout’ to stimulate the facial muscles and boost skin elasticity. When run over the skin, the unique probes lift and sculpt – use the aloe vera-based activator gel to hydrate and give slip.

Antonia burrell

Antonia Burrell Facial In A Box, £25

Not an electrical gadget, but certainly an effective one, superstar facialist Antonia Burrell’s Facial In A Box contains everything you need to give yourself a pamper using her signature ‘face lift cupping massage’ technique. With two face cups and two eye cups – used to lift, contour and sculpt the complexion – and travel sizes of all Antonia’s soothing products, you can perform your own lymphatic drainage, no facialist necessary.

GloPRO

GloPRO Microneedling Regeneration Tool, £199

In the last year, the term 'dermarolling' has seen a 345% increase in saves on Pinterest – and since Kim Kardashian posted a selfie of herself receiving the (mildly gruesome) treatment back in 2016, interest in this prickly procedure has only grown. Enter the GloPRO – a handheld roller with tiny needles to gently puncture the skin and stimulate cell renewal, all in the comfort of your own home. Sounds painful, but it's not really – plus the device has an in-built LED light to promote healing and smoothness. Available from CURRENTbody.com.

Tria

Tria Beauty Age-Defying Laser, £450

You can't argue with the technology behind Tria's range of electricals. Bringing the same science as that of a professional clinic, the Beauty Age-Defying Laser is proven to accelerate collagen production for smooth and bouncy results. If eyes are your problem spot, try the new Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser, which gently targets fine lines.

Tweezerman

Tweezerman Bright Complexion Facial Dermaplaner, £33

Dermaplaning, the technique of closely shaving the face with a small blade, was dubbed 'the new way to exfoliate' last summer, when it was revealed that countless A-list celebrities queue up to book in for a treatment before big awards 'dos – and in fact, Hollywood pin-ups Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor were fans of the procedure. How does it work? The small razor removes any dead skin and 'peach fuzz', leaving the complexion smooth and bright. Tweezerman's new offering is specially designed to keep the blade at the perfect angle, so there's no need to worry about nicks!

Starskin

STARSKINPRO Micro-Filler Mask Pack, £27.50

Nervous of blades and needles? Sheet mask experts STARSKIN have come up with the perfect in-between – fusing technology and product, without the pain. Their latest launch - the Micro-Filler Mask Pack - contains microscopic crystals which create tiny punctures in the skin when applied (much like microneedling), allowing the mask which is then applied to penetrate the skin deeply, without the use of sharp objects. Skin is left smooth, plump and glowing. Result. Available from Harvey Nichols from 15th January 2018.
