Pregnant Kate Middleton discusses her due date and picking baby names

With three months to go until Kate Middleton and Prince William welcome their first child, excitement is building in the royal household. This week, pregnant Kate delighted onlookers as she opened up about her pregnancy, and even gave a little hint about her due date, as she visited a homeless shelter in Glasgow with her husband. The Duchess of Cambridge, who is around six months pregnant, revealed that her due date is "around mid-July" — a more precise hint than the official announcement from St James' Palace.

Asked by Rachel Sawyer, a project manager at the shelter, when her baby was expected and whether William and Kate had any names picked out, Kate replied, "It's around mid-July but apparently babies have their own agenda.

"We have a shortlist for both (boy and girl), but it's very difficult. My friends keep texting me names!" The pregnant royal was also asked whether the baby's nursery was ready. "No," she said, smiling. "We have got a lot to do!"

Now nearing the start of her final trimester, Kate, 31, remains as elegant as ever, with just the smallest sign of a baby bump visible under her chic tartan Moloh coat. The beaming mum-to-be revealed she plans to start her maternity leave from royal duties "around June time" in the final countdown to her baby's arrival.

She also spoke to one visitor about a new hobby, after she was presented with a knitted teddy bear as a present for her child. "That's really kind of you," she said, adding, "I'll have to ask for tips. "I've been trying to knit myself, and I'm really bad! I'll save it (the bear) for the big day."
