Prince Charles and Camilla visit Doctor Who studios

Prince Charles and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall are keeping busy ahead of the birth of the Prince's first grandchild.The royal couple made a stop at the set of the BBC series Doctor Who in Cardiff, while on their annual summer tour in Wales.Camilla, smiling cheerfully as she posed alongside Charles – and a pair of the science fiction series' evil Daleks – looked cool in a blue skirt and jacket suit with light beige heels and bag.

Prince Charles then got a chance to take over one of the infamous Daleks, before telling the crowd "you are our prisoners".Just days before they welcome the royal baby into the family when Kate Middleton gives birth, Charles and Camilla met current stars of the show Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman, as well as the show’s producer Steven Moffat and other crew members.During their visit, which is part of the hit show's 50th anniversary celebrations, the pair also got to tour the TARDIS – the blue police box that travels through time – as well as meet more of the show's iconic monsters.The visit to the BBC's new Roath Lock studios in Cardiff Bay – where the pair got to look around the set of the world’s longest running science fiction series – came on the third day of the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall's Welsh tour.It forms part of their annual trip to Wales – where they stay for a week at their holiday home in Llwynywermod, near Llandovery.As well as a date with the Time Lord, the soon-to-be grandfather and his wife Camilla have several other engagements.

The Prince of Wales will officially open the new Cardiff headquarters of his charity Prince's Trust Cymru and the Duchess will meet volunteers of the Emmaus charity shop, in Porthcawl.Despite their packed schedule, thoughts of the arrival of the royal baby are never far. On Tuesday Camilla was seen picking up a box of organic baby food for when William and Kate's bundle of joy arrives.
