Gary Goldsmith, the uncle of pregnant Kate Middleton who is due to give birth any day now, has revealed that he thinks the royal baby will be a girl. "I don't know the sex of the baby but my gut feeling is a girl," Gary exclusively told HELLO!. "When I refer to the baby I say 'she' but i'm not sure why..."

"It is an incredibly joyous moment for us and it is going to be wonderful for the nation," he continued.

Gary spoke of the rumour that Kate will spend the first six weeks of motherhood at her parents' Berkshire home. "If that is the case it is genius because it will give an opportunity for Kate to be surrounded by her mum and in a setting that offers more home comforts than a royal palace."

Much speculation has surrounded the imminent arrival of the royal baby, with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, giving strong hints as to when the baby may be born. "We are all just waiting by the telephone," said Camilla on a visit to Cornwall on Monday. "We are hopeful that by the end of the week he or she will be here. "If Prince William and Kate Middleton's baby arrived this week, the little Prince or Princess might even share a birthday with Prince Charles' wife, who turns 66 on 17 July.

The majority of the betting public seem to agree with Uncle Gary and suspect Kate's baby will be a Princess called Alexandra.Bookies have set stakes on everything from the baby's hair colour to its weight, and the current estimated amount that has been bet on the future King or Queen already stands at £1m.
