Happy birthday Princess Charlotte! To mark the royal's first birthday, Kensington Palace has released a set of official new portraits. And in keeping with the Duchess of Cambridge's style, creative Kate took the photos herself.

The doting mum and talented shutterbug went behind the camera and chose to photograph her daughter in the comfort of their family home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

CHARLOTTE'S CUTEST PHOTOS

The adorable shots show Charlotte looking precious in pink and blue dresses with matching bows and Early Days 'Emma' shoes. Three of the pictures were taken in the comfort of their home whilst one snap shows the little Princess in the garden, with family dog Lupo behind her.

Royal watchers were thrilled to see more photos of cherubic Charlotte. The last time fans were treated to pictures of the toddler was in April, when a portrait of Her Majesty with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was released.

With perfect lighting and a soft background, these new portraits of Charlotte could easily have been taken by a pro, proving Kate has mastered her photo taking skills.

Mum Kate took the new pictures of her daughter

This is not the first time the Duchess, 34, has stepped behind the lens in lieu of a royal photographer. The first official portraits of Charlotte and her big brother George, which were released in June, were taken by Kate.

Similarly, the Duchess captured Charlotte's first solo pictures, which were made public in November and showed the sweet youngster playing with a teddy bear.

Kate's passion for photography blossomed long before she joined the royal family. Her official profile on the British Monarchy's website notes the former history of art students' love of taking pictures.

ALL WE KNOW ABOUT PRINCESS CHARLOTTE

"Other hobbies include more recreational sports such as hill walking, tennis, sailing, swimming, and the arts, including photography and painting," reads the profile. "The Duchess's enthusiasm for photography saw her taking photographs as part of her role during her time working within Party Pieces, a family company owned and run by her parents."
