Giggling and showing off an adorable gummy smile, Prince Jigme of Bhutan looked picture-perfect in a new photo posted online. The little boy, who is four months old, was cradled by his proud parents Queen Jetsun Pema and King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan.

The trio made the perfect family, dressed in traditional clothing and posing against a backdrop of flowers.

Baby Jigme was particularly sweet, showing off his sunny smile and mirroring his dad's ecstatic expression.

The photo was released on Queen Jetsun's 26th birthday

The family were visiting the second Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition, which was inaugurated by Queen Jetsun on her 26th birthday on Saturday. The exhibition has been dedicated to the young queen this year.

King Jigme, 36, and Queen Jetsun, who have been dubbed the 'William and Kate of the Himalayas', welcomed their first child on 5 February. But the couple, who like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge married in 2011, didn't announce the name of their son until two months after the birth.

A spectacular naming ceremony was held two months after the birth

Speaking to the people of Bhutan at the naming ceremony, King Jigme revealed that he and his wife had decided to call their son Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck.

The King said: "The Gyalsey is not just the prince of the King and Gyaltsuen, but a son to all the Bhutanese people... Jigme means fearless. It symbolises great courage to overcome any challenge that he may confront in future as he serves our country."

Baby Jigme was born in February

He continued: "When the time comes for Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck to serve his country, he must always place the concerns of his country above all else and serve his people justly with great love and dedication. It will be his sacred responsibility to build a harmonious and just society, and thereby, fulfil all the aspirations of his people."

Since his birth, various portraits of the baby prince have been released to the public. The photo marking Jigme's three month birthday was particularly sweet, showing off the baby's head full of hair.
