The 30-year-old and her husband Prince William met the little boy at a reception on Thursday for a group of servicemen who trekked, unaided to the South Pole.Hugo's daddy, Vic, was among two groups of soldiers who marched their way through sub-zero temperatures in aid of the Royal British Legion. They recreated the race between Captain Robert Scott and Ronald Amundsen to reach the Pole, which took place a century ago.Vic, who marched with the Scott Team, said his son’s full name was a tribute to Captain Scott as well Mr Vicary’s late father. "The Duke liked the name. He thought it was very apt," said the 41-year-old Warrant Officer Second Class with The rifles. "My wife asked if he would like to hold him and he took hold of him." The Cornwall-born serviceman said William was a "natural" with children. He also told how Kate had said the baby was "very cute" and had "doting eyes on him". In the original South Pole expedition, Devon-born serviceman Scott arrived only to find his rival had beaten him to it. He and his comrades perished on the way home. Prince William was patron of the modern day expedition and gave a speech before he and Kate meet guests at a reception at Goldsmiths' Hall in London.
