Kate Middleton reveals she is hoping for a baby boy

During her visit to the Irish Guards Parade Kate Middleton revealed she is hoping her baby is a little boy when it is born in July. Speaking to one of the guards at Aldershot barracks the Duchess said she and Prince William are very excited about their new arrival and that while she hopes for a son, William is keen to have a daughter.To mark St. Patrick's Day the couple, who hold the Irish title of Baron and Lady Carrickfergus, arrived in the rainy Hampshire town around 10: 30 am.All eyes were on the pregnant Duchess, 31,  as she brightened up the grey and drizzly day in the same green Emilia Wickstead coat dress she wore last year. Kate accessorised her look with a black hat and her brunette hair in an updo for the patriotic ceremony, a year on from her first solo military engagement in the very same place.

Luckily for Kate she was not alone this year as when she got her heel caught in a grate husband William was there for her to hold on to.On 17 March 2012, Kate received glowing reviews about her appearance at the barracks. The Duchess handed out Shamrocks to 40 members of the 1st Battalion and their Irish Wolfhound mascot, Conmael, whom she met again at this year's event.Kate's appearance in Aldershot engagement marks the first of several royal engagements this week. On Tuesday the Duchess will visit the Bereavement Trust before heading north on Friday.During a day trip to Cumbria, Kate will enjoy a day with the scouts at a volunteer training day at Newby Bridge's Great Tower Scout Camp.

The royal couple enjoyed a day out together on Friday at the Cheltenham Races. The mum-to-be looked radiant in a vintage pink coat as she stood amongst friends and family including Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, who caused a stir by playing pulling on Prince William's ear.An friend of William's from his days at Eton, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended Harry's 2011 wedding to Louise Stourton before they themselves were married.
