Samantha Cameron holidays with David and the family in Ibiza

David Cameron and his wife Samantha Cameron have been enjoying some time off from London life on the Spanish island of Ibiza. Prime Minister David and 'First Lady' Samantha took their family to the popular holiday destination and have been enjoying spending quality time together.

On Sunday David and Samantha were seen having a cold drink at a café as they sat in the sun for a short break over the bank holiday weekend.

Samantha, 42, embraced the warm weather with a sleeveless dark teal dress and nude wedge heels as David stuck to his reliable dark shirt and shorts combination with open-toe sandals.

Later in the day the couple took their three children, Nancy, Arthur and Florence to the beach. Samantha showed off her figure in a pink bikini, while David kept his shirt on to protect from the sun.

David and Samantha have been criticised for taking a holiday despite London's terror alert. In spite of drummer Lee Rigby's tragic murder in Woolwich last week, David still went ahead with his trip. "We have got the internet, we've got mobile phones," said Conservative MP Nadine Dorries in defence of the Prime Minister. "I think Cameron could actually get back from Ibiza to London quicker than if he was in Cornwall."

"I think he is entitled to a holiday, he's entitled to be with his family. I actually want the Prime Minister to be refreshed, feeling happy because he's had holiday time with his kids and his wife and come back and be a refreshed Prime Minister."

David Cameron has been accompanied on the visit by a team of advisors and is keen to keep up with the lastest developments in the Woolwich case. "The PM is on holiday with his family for the week," said a Downing Street spokesman. "As always, whilst away, he remains in charge, and has office support with him."

The couple have holidayed in Ibiza before. In 2011 the Camerons were seen in the Island's central town of Santa Gertrudis.
