The Spa at The Chedi, El Gouna, Red Sea

A sandstone and marble-decked oasis that's perfect for relaxing and refreshing. I indulged in the Balinese massage where a blend of Norshek and Saskia Spa products were used for utter bliss. You could check-in for various massages, detoxifying skin treatments and even a signature hammam should you wish.

The spa boasts single and couples' suites, so it's ideal for romantic getaways too.

Dining at The Chedi, El Gouna, Red Sea

Well-travelled food lovers and disciplined dieters alike will revel in the cuisine offerings at this hotel. It is worth a visit if only to dine at The Restaurant, Nihon and The Beach House.

The Restaurant at The Chedi, El Gouna, Red Sea
The resort has cuisine for everyone

The Restaurant is an airy eatery with inside and outside seating serving up ocean views. Sitting at breakfast, you can peruse the menu for familiar favourites such as blueberry pancakes. Try the 'Green Omelette' or the traditional Shakshuka - if you have any space after being presented with the 'Bakers Basket' and decadent 'Morning Butter Board' that is.

Come nightfall, the talented chefs in The Restaurant serve a host of delicious and perfectly timed and presented dishes that will leave you spoiled for choice. The wonderful 'Fatat Mowza' - slow-cooked lamb shank with ragu, fragrant rice and crispy almonds that welcomed us on our first night has left a lasting impression.

Built on the foundations of a former hotel named the Bellvue, it's one of the only new hotels in the region where the beachfront rooms are practically within touching distance of the private beach.
