Finding the perfect Christmas tree for your home can not only be a difficult task, but an expensive one. But this year you could get a locally sourced real tree for as little as a fiver thanks to an amazing deal from IKEA. The Swedish homeware store has brought back its Christmas tree offer for a fifth year, and it's bound to prove hugely popular.

Pick up any of IKEA's £25 Christmas trees – you have Nordman fir, Nobel fir, and Norway spruce to choose from – between 23 November to 23 December and you will receive a £20 voucher at the checkout, effectively reducing the cost of the tree to just £5.

The only catch is that you won't be able to spend your voucher until 5 February 2018, so you won't be able to use it for Christmas decorations or gifts, but it's bound to come in handy to pick up some new homeware pieces for spring. Marcos Tejedor, Home Decoration & Outdoor Sales Leader from IKEA UK and Ireland, said: "There is something quite special about a fresh, real Christmas tree. The scent of pine needles through the home is one of our favourite Christmas fragrances, lifting everyone's sprits during the festive season. At IKEA, we believe that people shouldn’t have to fork out a small fortune on their tree.

"Our Christmas tree offer is now available in all stores and Order & Collection Points, apart from Stratford City OCP, making our trees more accessible and affordable than ever before. We're also proud to be supporting local suppliers, with all our trees being sourced from around the UK."

When it comes to decorating your tree, there is a trend for do-it-yourself crafts in 2017, with a recent report from Pinterest showing that people are looking for inspiration for making garlands, homemade ornaments and giant Christmas light balloons. But if you're not the creative type, you can easily add a touch of character to your Christmas tree with the kitsch and unexpected decorations that are proving popular for 2017, such as flamingos and tropical ornaments.
