‘I will never write another pop single’ says Elton John

After selling over 250 million records in his musical career, it comes as no surprise that pop legend Elton John is ready to call it a day.

Although the 63-year-old did not rule out the possibility of doing musical collaborations in the future, he confirmed would not release another solo single.

Speaking candidly to GQ magazine, the singer said: “I'm at that stage where I don't think I can write pop music any more."

"I can't sit down and do a proper rock song. It was okay when I was 25 or 26, but not any more.”

Perhaps somewhat jaded by the music industry, the star hit out at televised talent shows in a recent interview with the Radio Times, claiming they failed to produce any lasting talent.
