Welsh national treasure Margaret John has died at the age of 84.
The actress – who starred as Gwen's colourful elderly neighbour Doris in Gavin and Stacey (pictured) – passed away in a hospital in Swansea after suffering a short illness.
James Corden, her co-star in the BBC hit comedy, has tweeted his condolences, describing her as a "great actress and an incredible lady".
"She will be missed," he said.
Margaret, who received a BAFTA Cymru Lifetime Achievement award in 2009, appeared on stage at Wales' Millenium Centre last summer in Calendar Girls.
While she became well-known recently for her role in Gavin and Stacey, she had a long and distinguished career.
Her TV credits included Doctor Who, Coronation Street, Dixon of Dock Green, High Hopes, Skins, The Mighty Boosh and Little Britain.
She also appeared in David Schwimmer's British comedy film Run Fatboy Run in 2007.
