As Russell Crowe’s latest film Noah gets ready for its UK release the actor met with the Archbishop of Canterbury to discuss the religious issues raised in the film.
The Darren Aronofsky film, based on the biblical tale of Noah and the ark, has caused controversy among many religious groups, and British papers including The Telegraph stated that the pair reportedly discussed issues of faith and spirituality.
Russell met the Archbishop, Justin Welby, at Lambeth Palace, the British capital residence for the Church of England.
The New Zealand actor met the Pope last month at the Vatican after tweeting him for several weeks asking the pontiff to watch the film.
Director Darren Aronofsky has commented on his film, calling it the “least biblical film ever made.”
