Amanda Holden – best known as a judge on Britain's Got Talent – has landed a starring role in Shrek the Musical.
The 39-year-old actress will appear as green-faced ogre Princess Fiona, who was voiced by Cameron Diaz in the hit films, when the stage production comes to London's West End in 2011.
Having won over the show's directors and producers, Amanda will start rehearsals in the spring before the musical officially opens in June at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
While it has not been confirmed who will play the titular character, comedian Richard Blackwood will be appearing Shrek's sidekick Donkey.
Amanda has starred in a number of West End musicals before. In 2003 she was nominated for the best actress in a musical Laurence Olivier award for her turn in Thoroughly Modern Millie.
