When Lionel Blair celebrated 60 years in showbusiness this week there was one very special attendee waiting to congratulate him – the performer's grandson Oscar Thomas.
The tot got an early introduction to the British celeb scene at the bash, which was attended by the likes of Elaine Page and Christopher Biggins, and raised funds for a poverty relief charity.
"Do you know, it feels like six minutes rather than 60 years," says 77-year-old Lionel of his career. The Canada-born actor and dancer came to Britain aged one, and gave his first performances as a child, doing little shows with his sister in London Underground station shelters during WWII.
"I am so excited about this lunch, not least because it gives my fans a chance to celebrate with me. None of the last 60 years would have been possible without them," added Lionel, whose many hosting credits include Give Us A Clue and Name That Tune.
