British comic Sacha Baron Cohen has pulled out of his presenting duties at this weekend's Academy Awards ceremony.
The star, known for his comic alter-egos, Bruno, Ali G and Borat was originally planning to perform a sketch at the LA ceremony, apparently poking fun at James Cameron's Avatar.
Reports have suggested that the scene was to include Sacha dressed as a blue Avatar character alongside Meet the Parents star Ben Stiller.
Oscars producer Bill Mechanic, who worked with James Cameron on Oscar-winning Titanic, is understood to have axed the idea for fear of the director taking offence.
“I hate to use the term, because it's so ubiquitous, but there were ‘creative differences,’ Sacha's agent has revealed.
"Nothing acrimonious, but both sides felt that since they couldn’t agree, Sacha might as well remain in London.”
