She caused a stir with the comments she made in a US magazine interview that breastfeeding should be made law for the first six months of a baby's life.
And now Gisele Bundchen has spoken out in response to mothers and critics who were upset by what she said.
"I understand that everyone has their own experience and opinions and I am not here to judge,” wrote the supermodel mum on her website.
“I am sure if I would just be sitting talking about my experiences with other mothers, we would just be sharing opinions.
Gisele admitted she regretted that her comment sounded so "black and white".
She adds: "My intention in making a comment about the importance of breastfeeding has nothing to do with the law,
"Becoming a new mom has brought a lot of questions, I feel like I am in a constant search for answers on what might be the best for my child.”
