American Idol finalist Michael Johns has passed away at the age of 35.
The Australia-born singer, who took part in season seven of the show, is believed to have died from a blood clot in his ankle.
Former American Idol judge Simon Cowell was among those who paid tribute, calling Michael "a truly great guy".
Randy Jackson tweeted, "So sad. Too soon. Thank you for sharing your talents with us", while Paula Abdul said she was "torn up" over the sad news.
Following Michael's tragic death on Friday, his family, including his interior designer wife Stacey Vuduris, issued a statement.
"Our family is devastated by the passing of our beloved Michael, a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend," it read.
"We appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received from all corners of the globe. Please keep Michael in your thoughts and respect our need to grieve privately in this difficult time."
