The New York chauffer who accused supermodel Naomi Campbell of assaulting him has spoken out about the alleged altercation, saying he regrets involving the police, though he did not press charges.
In a statement made through his lawyer, Miodrag Mejdina said he "got angry and overreacted" and that the incident was "blown out of proportion".
The driver also apologised to the model, who responded with her own statement.
"I have worked very hard on correcting my previous wrongdoings and I will not be held hostage to my past," she said.
"I try to treat everyone with respect and I am pleased the driver has apologised. I would like to put the last few days behind me and move on."
The incident is not the first alleged assault case that has involved Naomi in recent years.
In 2008, the model pleaded guilty to assulting two police officers on a plane at Heathrow Airport and was sentenced to 200 hours of community service.
