She's been admired for her unique sense of red-carpet style since shooting to fame in An Education.
And now Carey Mulligan's landed herself even more prestige by beating fashionistas Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham to the Harper's Bazaar Best Dressed Woman of the Year award.
Designer Erdem Moralioglu who was on the judging panel said of the actress' style: "So Sixties French New Wave - like a Godard starlet - but totally modern."
However, the 25-year-old Oscar nominee seems less interested in the fashion side of things.
She said in a recent interview: "I was at a press conference and Woody Harrelson was answering questions about how he felt about his character.
"I got up there, and they said, "What are you wearing?" And I thought, "There was a time when I was an actress. Not just someone who wore dresses.
"I don’t really care that much about fashion, I just have a brilliant stylist who dresses me, and in my own life, I’m pretty simple. So that side of things has been wearing."
