The hit television show Game of Thrones has been renewed for another two seasons.
HBO’s adaptation of George RR Martin’s epic fantasy novels will continue through season five and six.
The news follows a 52% increase in viewers for the season four premiere this past weekend, while HBO’s online service HBO Go crashed due to the high demand.
HBO programming president David Lombardo in a statement said: "Game Of Thrones is a phenomenon like no other."
The show is an Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG award winner.
Set in the fictional lands of Westeros and Essos at the end of a decade-long summer, the novels interweave several plot lines with morally ambiguous characters and follow the members of several noble houses in a civil war.
