Lembit Opik's ex Cheeky Girl cautioned for shoplifting

Cheeky Girl Gabriela Irimia has received a police caution for shoplifting.

Officers were called to a Sainsburys supermarket in Wilmslow on Friday where Gabriela had been detained on suspicion of stealing.

The 26-year-old was given a caution for theft.

Gabriela, who was once engaged to former Liberal Democrat MY Lembit Opik (pictured), and her twin sister Monica found fame after appearing on Popstars: The Rivals.

They had four top ten hits between 2002 and 2004 including their debut single Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum).

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "At just after 2pm on Friday, January 7, Cheshire Police were called to a supermarket on Alderley Road, Wilmslow after a 26-year-old woman from Essex was detained on suspicion of theft of grocery items.

"The woman was interviewed by police as part of the investigation into the circumstances of the incident and subsequently given a caution for theft."
