Ultimate Warrior - real name James Hellwig - died from cardiovascular disease, a medical term for heart failure, this time due to “natural causes”.
The outcome from the Arizona Medical Examiner’s office means there were no traces of drugs or alcohol in his system.
While walking his wife to their car, the 54-year-old professional wrestler dramatically collapsed and was later pronounced dead in a nearby hospital on 8 April.
The performer was inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame just three days before tragically passing away.
Devastated colleagues from WWE released a statement to The Hollywood Reporter expressing the organisation’s remorse.
“WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE superstars ever. The Ultimate Warrior began his WWE career in 1987 and quickly went on to become one of the biggest stars in WWE history”.
Ultimate Warrior is survived by his wife Dana and his two daughters.
