Popular BBC soap EastEnders is to broadcast a live episode to mark the programme's 25th anniversary next year, it has been revealed.
The 30-minute programme will add to a week of special episodes in February 2010 to celebrate the milestone birthday.
Although the plotline remains firmly under wraps, producers have hinted that the live show will conclude a major storyline.
The Albert Square soap is following in the footsteps of ER, The Bill and Coronation Street, which have all aired live episodes.
"It's too early to discuss the exact storyline at this point, but viewers are assured that this live episode will bring them all the high drama and excitement they expect from EastEnders and then some," producer Diederick Santer has revealed.
