Filiming of Angelina Jolie's directorial debut has run into trouble after she was denied permission to shoot in Sarajevo.
Bosnia's culture minister reportedly withdrew the permit for the movie, a tale of love across ethnic lines set on the eve of the 1992 Bosnian war, after meeting with victims' representatives.
The Women Victims of War Association complained about the plot focusing on an affair between a Serbian man and a Bosnian woman, claiming it would distort the truth.
But the Oscar-winning actress urged people to hold judgement until they have seen the movie.
"There are many twists in the plot that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters and that will be revealed once the film is released," she said.
"My hope is that people will hold judgment until they have seen the film".
GK films – the company behind the production – said it would reapply for permission.
