Production has been delayed on the latest instalment of Iron Man after Robert Downey Jr injured his ankle whilst filming.
Marvel Entertainment said: "Robert Downey Jr sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt.
"There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates."
The film sees Avengers Assemble star Robert reprises his role as Tony Stark.
The actor took on the action hero role in 2008, when the first Iron Man film grossed $585 million worldwide. Two years later, Iron Man 2 grossed $623 million.
Iron Man 3, which is due to premiere next year, also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Paul Bettany, Guy Pearce and Sir Ben Kingsley.
