A storm is brewing at the BBC after weatherman Tomasz Schafernaker mistakenly made an obscene gesture while live on the air.
After being teased by Breakfast Show host Simon McCoy, the weatherman playfully raised his middle finger unaware that the camera had turned and was pointed at him.
Realizing his gaffe, the quick-thinking newscaster tried to play off the gesture as nothing more than chin scratching.
The BBC has issued an apology for any “offence caused”, although they have received no complaints from viewers regarding the incident.
Tomasz is not new to controversy caused by his on-air antics.
In one broadcast the 31-year-old mistakenly blurted out an offensive word while in another he offended viewers by referring to the Outer Hebrides as “nowheresville”.
