Joanna Lumley and Simon Cowell are both set to receive awards in the Queen's birthday honours list, senior sources at Whitehall have confirmed.
While the Gurkha rights campaigner has been put forward for a damehood by the civil service panel, music mogul is set to become Sir Simon Cowell as a reward for his services to music and charity work.
Previously, Simon admitted he didn't ever expect to receive the honour.
"I’d say my chances of being knighted were zero, in fact, below zero," he said.
"But I never did all this to get a knighthood. I am very lucky to do what I do and feel privileged."
