The Edinburgh Military Tattoo welcomed a very special guest for its 60th anniversary celebrations on Tuesday night.
Joining her husband King Abdullah in the Scottish capital, Queen Rania of Jordan was the jewel in the crown of proceedings, wearing a beautifully cut midnight blue gown.
Also with the couple was their 13-year-old daughter Iman.
Now celebrating its diamond anniversary after being established in 1950, the showpiece military event takes place against the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.
Around 1,000 performers including breath-taking motorcycle acrobats The Imps and the New Zealand Army Band, one the finest marching brass bands in the world are taking part.
