Rocker Rod Stewart has opened up about the painful decision to give up his eldest child Sarah for adoption.
"She was put up for adoption when I was 17 or 18, I think," said the 65-year-old on Thursday's The Joy Behar Show.
"I was absolutely stone broke... and so she was put up for adoption".
Sarah, now 46, was the product of his romance with an art student. She was given a home by a woman named Evelyn Streeter and her husband.
Father and daughter had sporadic contact during the Eighties.
And then Rod - now a father of seven, with another baby on the way - reached out to her following the death of her adoptive parents.
Rod said: "Since her mum and dad have died, we've tried to come together and be close together, and it's working out pretty well".
