The first picture of Benedict Cumberbatch acting as Julian Assange has been released.
In the photo Benedict, who will play the WikiLeaks founder in new film The Fifth Estate, bears an uncanny resemblance to the polemicist, who is currently residing in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.
Documenting the beginnings of the open news organisation, the film will be directed by Daniel Condon - the man behind Twilight: Breaking Dawn.
Speaking about the biopic, Daniel said: "It may be decades before we understand the full impact of WikiLeaks and how it's revolutionised the spread of information.
So this film won't claim any long-view authority on its subject, or attempt any final judgment. We want to explore the complexities and challenges of transparency in the information age and, we hope to enliven and enrich the conversations WikiLeaks has already provoked."
Golden Globe nominee Benedict has already had an impressive career to date, so it is of no surprise that he has been noted as one of the hot acting picks for 2013.
The 36-year-old will be battling it out for a best leading actor BAFTA in Sherlock, which is his fourth nomination from the acting board.
