The second state dinner of Michelle and Barack Obama's visit to London was no less impressive than Tuesday's glittering banquet at Buckingham Palace.
Held in Winfield House, the residence of the American ambassador, it was to thank the Queen for her hospitality the previous night.
US first lady Michelle was stunning in an off the shoulder Ralph Lauren column dress that made the most of her statuesque, gym-honed figure.
She'd accessorised with an intricate diamond necklace and a bracelet, also made up of diamonds and cut like a flower.
A sleek updo finished off the splendid look.
Her royal guest, meanwhile, cut a typically regal figure, shimmering in an evening gown, featuring gold and silver sequins. It was created by her personal dressmaker Angela Kelly.
An emerald necklace and matching earrings, topped off the dazzling effect.
