Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has told close friends that he is determined to beat prostate cancer after revealing that he's in the early stages of the disease.
The 61-year-old – who has enjoyed phenomenal success with musicals such as Jesus Christ Superstar – vows that he will return to work as early as possible.
"Andrew is now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year, said his spokesman.
Next year is likely to be jam-packed for the impresario as he launches a BBC TV series searching for the cast of The Wizard of Oz.
He also plans to produce Love Never Dies, a sequel to The Phantom of the Opera.
